As the net-zero transition accelerates, various green certifications have rapidly proliferated. To address confusion among the public surrounding these credentials, the Ministry of Environment has compiled and classified them into two main categories: Certificates and Licenses.
A certificate serves as proof of knowledge or skills, helping boost employability, but it is not a legal requirement for practicing a profession. Examples include English proficiency certificates, academic diplomas, marriage certificates, and student status documentation.
A license is a legally mandated credential that grants permission to practice specific professions. These are regulated by government agencies or professional bodies. Without a valid license, individuals are not authorized to work in the relevant field. Examples include the Professional Environmental Engineer License, Environmental Protection Personnel Certificate, Medical License, Attorney License, Teacher Certificate, and Driver’s License.
